Sale, appraisal, or search assignment: swift, personal, and purpose-driven advice

Acquiring or selling a work of art requires expert knowledge of the ever-evolving art market. For Dutch artworks from the period 1880–1950, Bob Scholte Fine Art offers trusted advice and discreet guidance on buying and selling; purchasing at auctions; deaccessioning; tailored search assignments; framing; and the preservation and restoration of your valuable pieces.

To provide you with fast and personal service, we offer a dedicated WhatsApp hotline. You can contact me directly via +31610325828 for any inquiries or advice. You will receive an initial response within 24 hours.

I may not be able to purchase your artwork immediately; however, I am happy to offer it on consignment. As a broker, I provide my services to facilitate the sale of your artworks. During the consignment period, I will work to sell your artwork to a third party, whether to a private collection, an institute or a museum. A formal contract will be drafted between you, as the seller (consignor), and my art dealership (consignee). This contract will include a detailed description of the artwork and specify the amount you will receive upon sale.

Throughout the consignment period, you retain ownership of the artwork, while I ensure it is properly insured. Consignment sales are conducted on a "no cure, no pay" basis. I only accept works on consignment that are a good fit for my collection.

Kindly submit your consignment request here.

The Scholte Collection offers professional art appraisal services. With experience gained through my work as an art dealer and as an appraiser affiliated with Waardewerk – Art Appraisals & Consultancy, I am pleased to assist you in determining the value, provenance, and authenticity of your artwork.

An art appraisal may be required for various reasons: insurance, inheritance, sale, loan, or division. Depending on your needs, the appraisal can be conducted verbally or formalized in a written report. Each report is carefully structured, transparently substantiated, and aligned with current market trends and comparable references.

To ensure complete independence, I never purchase works I have appraised myself. This guarantees that the appraisal process remains objective and impartial.
