The acquisition or sale of a work of art requires in-dept knowledge of art history and the ever-changing art market. For Dutch artworks from the period 1850-1950, Bob Scholte Fine Art provides independent advice and assistance for buying and selling; auction purchases; deaccessioning; art search requests and preservation and restoration. Get in touch to discuss the variety of possibilities.
We may not be able to purchase your artwork immediately, but we are willing to take the time to consign it. As a broker, we offer our services for the sale of your artworks. During the consignment period, we endeavor to sell your artwork to a third party, either to a private collection or a museum. A formal contract is drafted between the seller (consignor) and our art dealership (consignee). This contract describes the artwork along with the amount that will be remitted to you upon sale. Throughout the consignment period, the seller retains ownership of the object, while the work is insured by us. Consignment sales are conducted on a "no cure no pay" basis. We only accept works on consignment that fit well within the collection. Submit your consignment request here.
