Bob Scholte Fine Art: Dutch art dealer
My name is Bob Scholte. You may know me from the "Art Hunt" column in Tableau Fine Arts Magazine where I share a new find every three months. During my bachelor History, Art History & masters' Art Market & Connoisseurship, I started the search for undiscovered gems and that has never changed. One such find is the oil painting Femme de assise (1929) by the French cubist and theorist André Lhote, which has been widely reported in the Dutch media.
In the meantime, many works of art have been added to this list, including a Dutch panoramic landscape by Anthonie Jansz. van der Croos (1606-1662), Portrait d'une fermière by Léon Augustin L'hermitte (1844-1925), Two horses in a thunderstorm by the British horse painter Thomas Woodward (1801-1852), two unknown monoprints by Jan Schoonhoven (1914-1994), and a signed print of Jan Mankes' Portrait of Annie Mankes-Zernike from 1914. In addition to being a researcher, I am mainly active as an art dealer.
As an art dealer I collect and sell works of art from the 19th to mid-20th century, with an extra focus on Dutch old masters. I am mainly active in the market of Jan Mankes (1889-1920). In addition, I mediate between buyer and seller and I help collectors to expand their collection by locating and acquiring works of art.
The collection consists of various pastels by the Siebe ten Cate, a photo collection of Paul Blanca, a selection of drawings by Nola Hatterman (Baag collection), monotypes by Jan Schoonhoven, a pencil drawing by Jan Toorop, some paintings by Dutch masters from the 17th century and I have rare prints and sometimes paintings by Jan Mankes for sale.
