The Austrian Feiertag visited the Netherlands several times in the first half of the twentieth century. Here he painted and drew the typical Dutch customs and scenes, such as the bulb fields and the Dutch traditional costume, including those from Volendam. Some of these watercolors served as images on postcards, including this artwork of a tulip field where a boy kisses a girl, who then, petrified with shock, drops her pitcher.
